Paramo Snacks & Cumbres Blancas: Restoring Colombia’s Paramos, One Frailejon at a Time
Our partnership with NGO Cumbres Blancas aims to protect and restore Colombia’s paramos—vital ecosystems that provide freshwater to millions across the Andes and are home to unique biodiversity. These fragile environments are under threat from climate change, deforestation, and human activities, endangering both their flora and the water cycles they regulate.
At the heart of this initiative is the "Adopt a Frailejon" program, inviting individuals and communities to take an active role in conservation. Frailejones (genus Espeletia) are remarkable plants that play a key role in capturing moisture from the air and maintaining the water supply. Through your support, we’ll establish nurseries to grow and replant these endangered species, ensuring a thriving páramo ecosystem for future generations.
Join us in this mission to restore, protect, and preserve these irreplaceable ecosystems. Every frailejon adopted is a step toward securing clean water, healthy biodiversity, and a sustainable future for all.
Together, we can make a difference—one frailejon at a time!
